The experimental performance installation YEW is a co-created “soil-less garden” for immersion with nature and its intelligence. It includes a soundscape composed of the inherent sound of the particular plants. This first part of a trilogy premiered at HAU, Berlin.
For the transformation of the subtle costumes we experimented with hand-dyeing, nettle rinses, and showing signs of weathering and wear. The concept is rooted in my still favorite philosophy of Wabi-sabi, aesthetics that center on transcience and imperfection.
